Postdoctoral Fellowships

The training of mathematicians and physicists at the graduate and post-graduate level is an important aspect of the activities of CEMPI. The Center provides a stimulating international environment for master's and PhD students, as well as for post-doctoral researchers. Details of the application procedures for CEMPI funding are provided below.

CEMPI has one opening for one-year postdoctoral research position, starting between September 1st 2023 and November 30 2024. Applications in all mathematical fields of CEMPI are strongly encouraged. CEMPI's research project is available.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. prior to the start of the contract. Selection will be based on the scientific excellence of the candidate and on the quality of the proposed research project.

Beyond progressing on their own research, candidates are expected to take an active part in the activities of the CEMPI and of its partner laboratories, and in particular in the annual Thematic Semester of CEMPI. No teaching duties are imposed on the successful candidate and mastery of the French language is not a requirement. Candidates are strongly encouraged to contact the researchers of the two CEMPI partner laboratories (Lab. Paul Painlevé and PhLAM) active in their field, prior to submitting their application, in order to ensure their research project is in line with the CEMPI research program. The research project elaborated by the applicant with at least one member of the CEMPI will be an important point in the evaluation of the applications.

The net pay (after the deduction of social contributions, including health coverage and pension contributions, but not income taxes) is approximately 2,400 euros/month.
